Day 1
I should probably start by saying my LWOP (leave without permission pay) got off to a bad start with Sally (from DWS HR) emailing to let me know that I hadn’t submitted the signed version of my application for leave yet. Luckily I had signed and fxaed it off on the day I received it so after a few panicked phone calls I located the original and re-faxed it … how bad would that have been. Leaving Las Vegas
Apparently there’s a lot of love at Crown. I think it’s mainly because they wanted to make sure I left. It seemed that the last couple of days were spent attending various farewells. I organised my own going away lunch, is that pretentious? I figured just gather everyone together for a kind of last supper. If you let team leaders, managers organise that kind of thing it ends up with people making speeches aimed purely at embarrassing you for the amusement of the others. I enjoy embarrassing others and I’m all about the giving so I chose not to be on the receiving end.
